Built on the beach, since 2012.
Sandbar opened in 2012 as a small beachfront spot in San Pedro with hand-tossed pizza, a few hammocks, and a view of the Caribbean.
Over the years it grew into a beachfront hostel, then added hotel rooms, a rooftop bar, and now a rooftop pool. What hasn't changed: we're independent, family-run, and we know our guests by name.
Sandbar is staff-owned. Six of our managers hold a share of the business, so the people running the place each day have a real stake in how it turns out. When the person behind the bar or at the front desk owns part of the place, they treat it like it's theirs, because it is. That shows up in the small things: a room that's actually ready when you arrive, a bartender who remembers what you ordered last time, a manager who fixes a problem instead of passing it along. There's not much turnover here, so the faces you meet on your first visit tend to be the same ones on your next. The people who built Sandbar are the same ones who run it.
